Financial Administrator for the Accounting Unit

Description of Unit/Department
The Accounting Unit has a clear mission: we maintain the municipality's accounting and the economic administrative processes while managing the municipality's financial systems. We are responsible for ensuring that the municipality and its companies comply with legal requirements and provide accurate accounting. We combine professional competence with strong commitment and constantly strive for increased value and quality in our mission. The Accounting Unit is located within the Finance Department, which is part of the Municipal Executive Office. The Accounting Unit is a group where we collectively strive to create simplicity and reduce administration while maintaining or increasing quality. We have a good balance between independence and community – you will have great trust to take responsibility for your work, while always having colleagues to consult and be inspired by.
Job Description (Tasks)
We are looking for someone who wants to become a key person in our team regarding supplier invoice management and customer invoicing. You have experience with electronic invoice management (EIM), digital invoice flows, approval flows, subscription invoicing, and familiarity with EIM systems.
As a financial administrator, your tasks will include: Responsibility for ongoing accounting, reconciliations, year-end closing, record keeping, support, service, and collaboration within the assigned area.
Apply and follow municipal and municipal company accounting legislation, and ensure that applicable standards and guidelines are adhered to.
Develop and improve routines and working methods within the area.
Provide support and service on financial matters to internal and external parties primarily via case management systems and phone.
Participate in the unit's work to develop and educate in accounting according to the unit's goals.
We are looking for you (desired qualifications and requirements for the position)
To succeed in your role, you need: The ability to work both independently and in a team in a structured manner, as well as manage multiple parallel tasks. Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and a willingness to collaborate with others. A solution-oriented and analytical approach.
We place great emphasis on social skills and personal suitability.
We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience in electronic invoice management and accounting.
It is advantageous if you have: Worked in municipal operations or another politically governed organization. Experience working with Unit4 ERP and/or Visma Proceedo.
Educational Requirements:
You have post-secondary education in economics with a focus on accounting, or work experience that the employer considers equivalent.
It is advantageous if you have: Education in municipal economics.
As a person, you are self-driven, loyal, structured, and service-oriented.
